Example 1: Find information about:
”The applications of supercapacitors on electric car”
Resource:
- Bibliographic database, e.g.: INSPEC
Search terms:
- Separate the different aspects or elements of the subject and look for synonyms
- Different aspects, use AND operator
- For synonyms, use OR operator
The following table of search terms can be constructed

Query in INSPEC:

Limitation:
- Publication year from 1990 or later, if necessary only records in English language
Too much records?
- Make the query more specific
- Make the limitation more stricter
- Check your use of truncation and check that AND and OR are used correctly?
- Use proximity operators between aspect 1 and 2, if the resource implements proximity searching

- Find more synonyms, spelling variations
- Loosen up your search limits
- Check your use of trucation and check that AND en OR are used correctly?
