TU Delft Library is supporting the world-wide propagation of knowledge via open access publication. An Open Access incentive fund has been set up to help with the financial side of Open Access publication.

TU Delft Library intermediary for UNESCO-IHE repository

In mid-June, a start was made on storing full text versions of dissertations from the UNESCO-IHE Institute for Water Education in TU Delft Repository. The UNESCO-IHE repository is the first repository to be hosted by TU Delft Library on behalf of a third party.

Access books from closed repository temporarily restricted

On 30 June work will begin on replacing the lighting in the closed repository, and will continue for several weeks. This means that as the lighting is replaced section by section, it will not be possible to enter the section in which work is being carried out in order to access books.

Integration of DAREnet into NARCIS complete

On 2 June 2008, the network of academic repositories in the Netherlands, DAREnet, was incorporated into the NARCIS portal .

Reference works temporarily moved

Since the fire which destroyed the Architecture building, the Architecture collection (returned books and acquisitions) are stored in the reference works information centre in the Central Library.

Archives of Taylor & Francis Group

From now on the TU Delft Library has access to the archives of the database Inspec (1898 – 1968).

Scopus procured for TU use

The TU Delft Library has decided after a year-long trial to procure the multidisciplinary database Scopus . Students and Library staff can access Scopus over the campus network to retrieve bibliographic information from numerous publishers. The SFX option enables Scopus to link to many full-text articles, including from Science Direct .

Larger collection of CRC handbooks

Early in September, the collection of full-text CRC handbooks was enlarged.
This means that TU Delft students and staff now have access to the following reference works through the campus network:

Knovel Library

From September the 1st our library has access to electronic books from Knovel Library. The books can be accessed from the Delft University campus via www.knovel.com.
