Why use books?

The internet may be a great source of up-to-date information, but books can still be the best source for other information, such as:

• Background information
• Overview of a subject
• Detailed and in-depth analysis of a topic
• Reference lists

Books in the TU Delft Library collection

The collection is oriented mainly towards technical and applied sciences. It supports research and education within TU Delft and at the national level.

Books are available at 4 locations on campus:

• Central Library (all subjects)
• Architecture
• StuDoc (Civil Engineering and Applied Earth Sciences)
• Trésor

Discover

Discover – the TU Delft Library search engine – includes both the paper collection and an ever-increasing portion of the library's online collection. Discover has a simple but smart search box that you will find on the top right of every webpage.

Discover supports both intuitive Google-like queries and formal boolean queries.
It is not advised to mix these two method

Our search engine Discover currently holds:
• Catalogue (books, journals, databases, reference works, both on paper and online)
• Elsevier articles 1995-2010
• TU Delft Repository
• ABSIS (Bibliographic Architecture database)
• Unesco-IHE repository

Catalogue

The online TU Delft Library catalogue is a database which contains records of all the resources held by the library. Use the catalogue to:

• Search for books
• Request or reserve books
• Access full-text e-books (TU Delft campus only)
• Print, download or e-mail search results
• Renew borrowed books
• Check your library account
